My son has been on it. He also has Type 1 diabetes. This drug made his blood sugars sky-rocket, and also put him into Ketoacidosis. In the 7 years he had diabetes, the only time he had ketoacidosis was when he was taking the drug. We discontinued treatment. My insurance changed the brand of somatropin he is to use, and it is not very easy to use. He did grow some, however, with his blood sugars so high -- and then the change in the mixing of the medicine -- treatment has been stopped. If the doctors would accept that the blood sugars rose because of this drug -- and stop denying how wonderful it is, maybe I'd try it.
