Immediately after starting this medication, I started feeling better. I took the medicine for the full 5 days that I was prescribed and felt a lot better. Two days after I stopped taking the medicine, I started feeling worse than I had before I started taking it. I went back to the Doctor and my infection had come back much worse. So basically for me, it did not work. I needed a stronger anti ... Show Full Comment

I have had perhaps a half dozen episodes of UTI in the past decade and treated it each time with Cipro. I have not experienced any negative side effects at any time and the infection symptoms disappeared after each regimen.

I made it to the second dose of medication when I experienced almost immediate nausea. Also, I had tingling throughout my entire body. My legs feel like they are weighted down and I must hold on to something to stay stable. I,m off it now but I hope these symptoms go away soon.

I am no stranger to UTI's. As you can see from the rest of these ratings, Cipro is very hit and miss for some people. I've only ever used Cipro to treat my kidney/urinary tract infections, and I've found that the benefits outweigh the risks. I am an 18 year old female, about 100 lbs. I find that the more I use cipro, the more side effects I experience. But I must say, it does the trick ... Show Full Comment

I was perscribed Cipro for a typical UTI (I have a short urethra so they are common for me). I had never taken it before. After my first dose I had extremely bad diarrhea, stomach cramping, burning skin, and began going into anaphalactic shock. I wouldn't take this drug again. I did notice my symptoms of the UTI clearing up after the dose, but the benefits DID NOT outway the reactions for me.
