dehydration
Pronunciation (dē′hī-drā′shŭn)
- Deprivation of water. Syn: anhydration
- Reduction of water content. Syn: exsiccation (2) Syn: desiccation
- Used commonly in emergency departments to describe a state of water loss sufficient to cause intravascular volume deficits leading to orthostatic symptoms.
